I've always been a reader and a writer. From my earliest school memories, I loved reading kids books, exploring libraries, and creating short stories. Books filled my walls as their stories filled my soul. In adulthood, I discovered my passion!
My passion is writing children's picture books that include my farming experiences. Take my Becki four-picture book adventure series as an example. Becki and the Trailer Kids (Book 1) is about raising kids (baby goats) and the fun and challenges they present. Book 1 will launch, in Fall 2024, followed by three more Becki adventure books that include goats, calves, Canada geese, coyotes, and hummingbirds.
All children want adventure and books become doors to new adventures. Perhaps the ‘transported’ listener/reader will begin to author and/or illustrate their own stories.
That is my greatest wish!
Becki and the Trailer Kids (Book 1) is a about Becki’s experiences raising seven baby goat kids and the fun and challenges they present. Becki is new to country living, farming, goat kid feeding schedules, working with livestock guardian dogs, dealing with a naughty, escape goat kid called Blackie, and more.
Book 1 will launch in Fall 2024.
Becki’s Adventures continue with three more farm animal books. These kid books include goats, calves, Canada geese, and hummingbirds. There are scenes of weather (i.e., severe rain, drought, snow) that add to the challenges Becki faces.
